The Ultimate Fall Sideline Checklist: Stay Warm & Look Good

Being a sports mom in the fall means two things:
-
Your calendar looks like a coach’s playbook.
-
The weather doesn’t care that you’re stuck on metal bleachers or sidelines for three hours.
That’s why I put together the Ultimate Fall Sideline Checklist — part style, part survival guide. Print it, share it, and keep one in your trunk so you’re never caught freezing at halftime again.
✅ Clothing & Layers
-
Sideline Jacket (waterproof + fleece-lined = non-negotiable)
-
Cozy hoodie for layering
-
Leggings or joggers you can move in (bonus: fleece-lined if temps drop below 50°)
-
Extra socks (trust me, bleacher winds sneak in)
✅ Comfort Must-Haves
-
Blanket (bonus points if it’s waterproof on one side)
-
Heated bleacher seat or cushion
-
Thermos with hot coffee, cider, or hot cocoa (for the kids too)
-
Hand warmers are an added bonus to the Sideline Jacket fleece-lined pockets
✅ Organization Gear
-
Trunk organizer (keep all of your gear from swallowing your car…especially the annoying balls rolling around while you drive)
-
Tote bag for easy transporting of all of your sideline needs. This can also stay in your trunk.
✅ Bonus Mom Points
-
Extra jacket, beanie and ear warmer for the kid who forgot theirs
-
Sideline snacks (packaged ones survive best in chilly weather)
-
Poncho or umbrella — because fall rain loves soccer Saturdays
💡 Pro tip: Build two grab-and-go bags: one for warmish days, one for chilly days. Rotate depending on the forecast so you’re never sprinting around the house yelling, “Where’s the blanket?!”
👉 Want the one piece that covers 90% of this list? My Sideline “It” Jacket is waterproof, fleece-lined, and stylish enough to count as “mom chic.” Consider it your MVP of fall sports gear.
Game on.
