Behind The Sports Mom with Jasmine Caccamo

Styling Success & Sideline Life: A Conversation with Jasmine Caccamo
When you think of a professional stylist, you might picture red carpets, fashion pulls, and Pinterest-worthy wardrobes — but what happens when you add sports practices, snack duty, and sideline Saturdays into the mix? For Jasmine Caccamo, it’s all just part of the look.
As a celebrated stylist and a proud sports mom, Jasmine brings intention and style to every area of her life — proving that showing up powerfully doesn’t mean choosing between glam and grit. We had the chance to chat with Jasmine about her career in fashion, how motherhood has shaped her perspective and much more…
Here’s what she had to say:
Tell us a little bit about your family and life as a Sports Mom.
We’re a full-on sports family — like, if there’s grass and a ball, we’re there. My husband played pro soccer and now coaches, so between his schedule and my son living on some sort of field - soccer or baseball - my life runs on Starbucks and group chats. I’m the designated team snack packer (thanks Thrive Market!), hype woman, and sometimes wardrobe coordinator — because yes, even game day deserves a good look. It’s chaotic in the best way. Sports aren’t just an activity in our house — they’re a lifestyle and a language we all speak.
What inspired you to become a stylist, and how did you carve out your path in such a dynamic industry?
From the jump, I always wanted to find a way to merge writing, fashion, and sports — even before that crossover space was cool. I started working in the world of magazines back in the 2000s, and it was honestly the dream — storytelling through visuals, being surrounded by fashion editors and creative thinkers. That experience introduced me to some incredibly inspiring stylists, and watching them bring stories to life through wardrobe completely shifted my path. I realized I didn’t just want to write about style — I wanted to help shape it. That’s where it all started, and I’ve been building from there ever since.
Sports mom life is its own kind of hustle. How do you balance showing up professionally with being there for your kiddos games and practices?
I don’t believe in balance — I think it’s a unicorn. We’ve all heard about it, but no one’s actually seen it. What I do believe in is being intentional with my time. Some days I’m on set or in a client fitting with a protein bar in my bag and an iCal full of game and practice reminders. Other days, I’m that mom on the sidelines sending emails from the car with one eye on the field. It’s not perfect — it’s a constant juggle — but I’ve learned to be present where my feet are, to plan with purpose, and to unapologetically prioritize the things that matter.
What’s something about being a sports mom that surprised you or that people might not fully understand until they live it?
The intensity. People assume it’s all orange slices and cheering from the sidelines, but when your kid plays competitive soccer and baseball, it’s a whole different world. There are tryouts and ID sessions, scouts, tournaments and games that take over your entire weekend — and a real pressure these kids carry. You become part parent, part therapist, part travel coordinator. What surprised me most was how emotionally invested I became. Every goal, every strikeout — you feel it with them. It’s not recreational, its commitment, and it becomes a huge part of your family rhythm.
How has motherhood — especially as a sports mom — influenced your approach to personal style?
It’s definitely made my style more functional, but never boring. I live in a mix of elevated sporty looks — think: leggings that can handle 4 hour drives and client meetings, oversized tees or jackets, and biker shorts styled just right. I’m always on the hunt for the next great sneaker or runner — because let’s be real, a fire shoe pulls the whole look together. My closet has basically turned into an effortless capsule wardrobe: versatile pieces that move with me, layer well, and still give that styled but not trying too hard vibe. Sporty, chic, and on-the-go, that’s my vibe.
What are your go-to style pieces or tips for looking pulled-together while juggling game days and tournaments? Any go-to fool proof formulas?
I live by a few key formulas: wide-leg windbreaker pants or a good-fitting pair of leggings are my go-tos — they’re comfy and classically cool. I’ll throw on an overized leather jacket, a classic denim, or a great trench to instantly elevate the look. Im a huge fan of oversized tees and sweatshirts, or an interesting basic tank - think interesting hemline or detail; and always, always a fresh pair of sneakers. Add sunglasses and a slick bun or cap, and you’re sideline-ready without looking like you tried too hard. It’s about pieces that work together, on repeat.
What does confidence look like for you these days — in motherhood, in style, and in showing up as your whole self?
Confidence is quiet but grounded. It’s knowing you don’t have to do it all, but what you do choose to do, you show up for fully. It’s wearing what you love, saying what you mean, and not dimming that light for ANYONE. . I’ve learned that being my full self — as a mom, a wife, a stylist, and businesswoman — is my superpower.
Any tips for new sports moms entering this new lifestyle?
Get a comfy car seat cushion and invest in a cute crossbody, trust me. But in all seriousness, give yourself grace. You’re not going to know everything right away, and that’s okay. Be present, celebrate the small wins, and find your people (I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH) the other moms who’ll pass you snacks (or a drink) or laugh with you on a rainy Saturday morning.
Last, I’d love to know, as a celebrity stylist, do you have a favorite styling moment that stands out?
Alex Morgan’s Met Gala debut. That was a moment. Seeing an athlete walk fashion’s biggest red carpet — in a look that made a statement and felt authentically her — was everything I love about what I do. It wasn’t just about a dress. It was about narrative, impact, and showing the world that women in sports can run the show on and off the field.
Jasmine’s story is a reminder that being a sports mom doesn’t mean setting style (or self) aside. It means redefining what it looks like to show up — with intention, with heart, and yes, always with a really good pair of sunglasses 😎
I personally loved this interview with Jasmine because fashion and style have always been a big part of my life too. It’s funny how your wardrobe naturally shifts as your lifestyle evolves — especially when motherhood and sports become part of the picture. Finding your style and wearing what makes you feel confident has a real impact on your mood. The bottom line? When you look good, you feel good — and your outfit can truly set the tone for your entire day.
That belief is exactly what inspired me to create Chillin Sports Mom — a brand born on the sidelines, where I saw a real need for sideline gear that’s both functional and elevated. Because sports moms deserve to feel just as confident and stylish on game day as they do anywhere else.
